ARRIVING - The Depot now reaches the new location. It has arrived to the proper place. However, the tough job of pushing it backwards while scraping the soil made the truck's clutch slip badly. Something had to be done. When it was over the concrete floor, the depot was jacked off the trailer and was supported. The truck pulling the trailer was now done and the clutch would have no more stress. Since the wasn't quite in the proper place, the building was lowered onto the roller pipes to be pulled to it's ideal position. This image shows one of the roller pipes that would allow the depot to be moved a few feet to one side. Herschel Staples pulls the depot on rollers towards the tractor. It was then necessary to pull the depot to its proper position, so two chain hoists were used to coax the depot into place. A pickup and a tractor were the anchoring points. Now the building is almost where it belongs, exactly over the floor. This is the depot's third and final location.
Location 2. - In Ellsworth beside the railway Location 3. - The present location Because the depot is out of railroad service, perhaps it will always remain here, a fitting place that is close the the city water tower, the Fire Station, the Ellsworth Library and the Ellsworth Post Office.
